About the template

PDF Editor

If you’ve used a PDF app on your iPhone, you know this niche is always in demand. PDF apps consistently rank in the top Productivity category, with apps like PDF Editor by SMM generating over $400,000 per month (SensorTower). This source code uses a powerful API, but you don’t need to know PDFKit to expand it, just integrate new tools via API. With the 8 built-in tools, you’re already set to compete and tap into a highly profitable market.

You will get the complete source code for the app as seen in the video demo. Nothing more or less than what the demo shows. This app is compatible with the latest version of Xcode and SwiftUI. The app is built in SwiftUI and compatible with Xcode 15+. The app supports multiple ways to import PDF files: from a direct URL, through the Files app, or by converting a webpage into a PDF. Most tools rely on the PDF.co API, which requires a registered account. The only exception is the signature tool, which uses Apple’s native PDFKit framework to insert elements directly into the document.

Requirements

What do I need to get started?

You will need a Mac computer with Xcode 15+. This app requires iOS 15+. All templates on this website are for iPhones without iPad support. An AdMob account is necessary if you want to show ads in the app. We provide basic PDF documentation on how to replace the AdMob Interstitial Ad identifiers and the in-app purchase product identifiers. You will need an account with PDF.co website and API key. You can easily get your key here: https://app.pdf.co/ and you can check their pricing as well.

How it works

How does it work?

  • The first step for users is to import a PDF file into the app.
  • PDFs can be imported via the Files app, a direct PDF URL, or by converting a webpage into a PDF.
  • The app includes 8 editing tools: Merge, Split, URL to PDF, PDF to Excel, Compress, Edit, Redact, and Signature.
  • Only the Signature tool uses Apple’s native PDFKit framework and does not require the PDF.co API.
  • All other tools require the PDF.co API by uploading the document and invoking the selected operation.
  • The number of credits consumed per API call depends on the selected tool and the number of pages in the PDF.
  • Premium users unlock unlimited imports, remove ads, and access to all PDF tools via a one-time in-app purchase.
  • In-App Purchases are handled via a private framework. This framework doesn't support subscriptions. You can use this framework for any other games/apps you want to add in-app purchases.
